Grand Haven Beach

Lake Michigan beaches are great for swimming.  Watch the children carefully though.  Don't let them go out too far and get swept away.

I took this photo on the beach in Grand Haven, Michigan.  The sand is called singing sand due to the quartz content.  Drag a toe or shoe across damp sand and you may hear it sing.

This summer we watched pole vaulting on the beach, a sand castle contest and volley ball.
