Enbridge runs an oil pipeline through the Straits of Mackinac and it needs to be shut down.  It is aging and we cannot afford an oil spill into the freshwater seas.  Click the link above and sign the petition.

Barbara -- Our elected officials need to hear that we want Gov. Snyder to shut down Line 5 in the Straits of Mackinac—before there’s a catastrophic oil spill! You can help make that happen on Wednesday, April 19 in Lansing by joining me and other Oil & Water Don’t Mix supporters from across the state to tell our elected representatives to support the resolutions calling for the shutdown of Line 5 in the Straits of Mackinac. If you’ve ever attended a citizens lobby day you know this is a fun event as well as an important opportunity to share your concerns about the threat to our Great Lakes from this dangerous oil pipeline. For 64 years, the sunken hazard of Enbridge’s Line 5 pipeline has been lying at the bottom of the Straits of Mackinac - one of the most sensitive parts of the entire Great Lakes region. On April 19th, we will be gathering in Lansing to lobby our elected officials and tell them to stand with the people of Michigan and say no to the continued operation of this dangerous pipeline. We invite you to be one of the concerned citizens to meet with our legislators and to show them your support for shutting down Enbridge's Line 5.
